From the Maximo project library
A real project from the Clear Radiata album. The photograph does not establish a finish or weathering timeline.
Board detail from the Clear Radiata album; not a drawing or sample of a specific catalog profile.
Light reveals the texture even within a dark material palette.
Real projects, not exact-profile samples. Confirm the species, application and finish for your project.
Profile & surface planning
A clear, uniform softwood profile designed for minimal knots and precise shadow lines. High-temperature thermal modification reduces the board’s moisture response compared with the same species untreated.
Choose a compatible exterior finish when color retention is desired, and confirm factory-prefinish options with the dealer. If left unfinished, the surface will gradually weather toward silver gray; timing and uniformity vary with exposure and detailing.
Lower moisture uptake helps reduce seasonal movement across board joints.
No added synthetic wood preservatives in the thermal process.
Reduced movement supports more predictable joints when the profile is installed correctly.

The installation detail
Beautiful surfaces start with the right board, the right joint and the right support. Here is how this profile fits into the plan.

Your profile
Original catalog artwork. Enlarged for clarity, not to scale. Use the approved detail for installation.
Radiata’s Nickel Gap / Square Back has its own stepped geometry. It is not the Ayous tongue-and-groove detail.
Maximo strongly recommends screw fastening outdoors, particularly for Thermo Clear Radiata and Scandinavian Thermo. Use the stainless steel system specified for the selected assembly.
For siding, Maximo calls for furring secured to studs and ventilation behind the boards. Coordinate the drainage path, openings and clearances with the wall design.
